Penny Pincher

Everyone likes to save a bit of money, or grab a bargain for themselves. Here in the UAE there are few loyalty cards I would like to recommend, if you haven't got them already that is, so here goes!

The most popular of cards, handy to have in your wallet, build up your airmiles and then redeem them against anything from weekends away to kitchen appliances. Easy to apply for and completely free. You can find out more information about AirMiles on their website

Very popular choice, it's the one of choice when Flying with Emirates. However many people fail to realise that the Skywards card can be used in various partner hotels, car hire companies and on another 8 airlines. Easy to register on line with all the benefits there for us all to see. Check their website for further information.

The festive season is firmly behind us, but why should eating turkey be! It was good enough to celebrate Christmas Day and I am planning on purchasing another feathered friend (minus the feathers) in the next few months. Weighing in at just 15 dhs a KG what other low fat meat can we buy that is so versatile? There is an array of the old favourites that you can make with turkey but do a bit or research and you will find it can be used in practically anything, from stir fry's, to turkey and chips (low fat ones of course or actifry's as I call them). Meat prices in the UAE seem to vary all the time, but for a decent roasted "bird" I don't think anyone could complain about a 7 kg beast for less than 100 dhs.
